Located at 750 South Broadway in Salem, Ohio you will find our post
has a lot to offer. There is ample parking on the North and South side
of our building with plenty of handicapped parking spots. Post 45 has
something for everyone from young to old. Don't let the simple
exterior of our building deceive you, once you enter our modern and
spacious facility you will be impressed with our design and
atmosphere. Our canteen area offers a custom horseshoe style bar
designed for comfort and functionality. Many visiting members and
guests often compare our canteen atmosphere to that of the fictional
cheers pub on TV. Our barmaids are fast and efficient and serve
quality refreshment with warmth and a smile. Beyond the bar is our
game room complete with pool table, dart board and card table. While
watching a friendly game of pool or darts you can sit back and watch
your favorite show on our big screen TV. The doors from the game room
lead to an outdoor covered patio deck complete with tables and chairs
and an old fashioned swing. Down the steps from the deck onto our
spacious back lawn you will find picnic tables and horseshoe pits.
During the summer months Sunday afternoon is a favorite
time for teams to hold matches, if your not a player the games can be
viewed from the back deck or picnic tables and spectators are always
welcome. At the back of the lawn is our Veterans Memorial complete
with flagpole, monument and reflecting pool with running water and
live fish.
The inscribed hand laid bricks have the name of living and
past veterans on them. A bench is provided for those who wish to spend
a moment of reflection.
